About Us
The Broadview Hawks are an Australian football team ("Aussie Rules") based in Toronto, Canada. The club participates in a nine team league called OAFL and is a member club of AFL Canada.
The club was formed in 1989 with the inception of the league, originally as the North York Hawks. In the mid-90's the club moved their home ground to the Broadview area and changed the club name. The club wears the team colours of its parent club, the Hawthorn Football Club of the AFL.
Where and When We Play
The OAFL season runs from May to early October. Games are held weekly on Saturday mornings during the season, with the occasional game on a Friday evening or a Sunday afternoon. There are six grounds that the league uses with most games held at Humber College North (Hwy 427 and Finch). The other fields are University of Toronto Scarborough (our home ground), Humber College South, Mohawk Park (Hamilton), Guelph, and Ottawa.
The Hawks typically train twice a week during the season on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm. We train at McCleary Park which is located in downtown Toronto off of Lakeshore just east of the Don Valley Parkway (see a map and more details).
Interested in Playing?
The Hawks are always searching for new players. No previous experience is required. We have a mix of Australians and non-Australians on the roster in all shapes, sizes, and skill levels.
